Adopting a circular economy across the 3F Plus chain

The advantages of the 3F Plus (FEED – FARM – FOOD) chain and technological advancements have enabled GREENFEED to gradually approach and promote application of the circular economy model into production activities at its factories and farms.

Many sustainability initiatives have been implemented and offered promising results such as wastewater treatment, waste management, renewable energy. In particular, livestock waste is processed through a treatment system. Specifically, the wastewater in livestock production is treated through the biogas recovery system, producing energy to run a generator. Solid waste is being used for composting fertilizer and producing earthworms, with vermicompost as an end-product to provide nutrients that all plants can benefit from. Vermicompost is then provided to farmers for cultivation or GREENFEED farms to grow green areas around. This process not only helps GREENFEED effectively manage livestock waste but also create value-added products for consumers and local communities.

Shifting to renewable energy and promoting resource efficiency

In addition to biogas, GREENFEED has installed rooftop solar panels and switched to using biomass to power boilers at feed mills. It contributes to a rise in renewable energy utilization and a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, GREENFEED also takes steps to reduce the usage of plastic packaging through distributing bulk feed via silo systems.

Creating an inclusive working environment

At GREENFEED, people are always regarded as a fundamental pillar  in its development strategy. All employees are enabled to join comprehensive training and wellness programs. GREENFEED has been listed among Top 10 Companies with Happy Workforce and Top 100 Best Places to Work in Vietnam for five consecutive years by Anphabe and Intage Vietnam. Sharing goodness to the community

The company also pays great attention to the community and commits to continue taking advantage of its business strengths to outspread goodness to the community, especially women and children, through various programmes, such as Empowering Farmers and Meals of Smiles, Sharing Goodness to Fight Against the Pandemic.

In particular, the Meals of Smiles programme has provided 1.9 million meals to help improve over 3,000 Vietnamese children’s meal quality and nutrition at 38 shelters across the country. Meanwhile, the Empowering Farmers has enabled 2,500 rural women to afford a better livelihood.
