Porkers from GREENFEED swine breed are purchased by traders at a price higher than the market by 200,000 VND/quintal

Born from gene marking technology in selective breeding, GREENFEED swine breeds apply two methods of selection at the same time according to phenotype and genetic value, yield history via PIC’s global productivity data bank (PICTraq).

For concentrated livestock farming, the selection of breed is the most important step, which plays a decisive role in the quality of output products, the economic efficiency of future generations of litters, and in the long run, the prestige of the traders’, customers’ and partners’ trust towards the farm.

GREENFEED has partnered with Pig Improvement Company (PIC), the world’s leading pig genetics company, to produce and distribute international acclaimed GF24 (Camborough®48) gilts that own outstanding genetic characteristics, with the aim to improve the quality of Vietnam’s livestock industry.

All breeds undergo strict selection process at 3 time points: weaning about 6kg; gilts 20 – 75 kg and before slaughter 80 – 90 kg, with a selective rate of up to 50 – 55%. This whole process is aimed at ensuring that all breeds that reaches the customer are the most perfect individuals.

GREENFEED swine breeds are trusted and raised by many large farms

Compared with other pig breeds, GREENFEED swine breed at the first stage of entry into the farm showed high adaptability to all breeding conditions; they carry E. coli (strain F18) resistance gene; stable productivity right from the first litter: from 31 to 32 weaners/sow/year*. The sow raises her piglets well, the piglets grow healthily and uniformly; fast re-insemination time (from 3 to 5 days), good vitality. Porker piglets grow fast, have good meat quality and high economic efficiency.

Additionally, GREENFEED swine breeds possess 21 beneficial traits in terms of reproduction, growth, development and vitality; these traits improved by 1-3% every year.

For porkers born from the swine breed, to the finishing stage, traders often buy them at a higher price than the market price from 100 to 200,000 VND/quintal due to the meat has a high percentage of dressed carcass weight ; The meat is firm, lean with a bright red meat color that meets the taste of consumers.
