After the difficulties of the pig industry in 2017 passed, a number of concentrated breeding households in Ha Tinh province proactively re-herded and switched to the super-lean pig breeding model. Choosing this direction during the period when the pig price was relatively stable (from March 2018 up to now), farmers had earned a significant net profit.
Most of the large-scale livestock farmers in Ha Tinh were seniors in their profession. Therefore, the planning of housing was reasonable; barn cleaning, disinfectant spray; livestock vaccinations, etc. were given due attention. In particular, large farms had been using animal feed from GREENFEED for many years because of its stable quality, traceable origins, nutrition formulae that can meet specific requirements of each growth stage of livestock; and reputation on the market.
For example, Ms. Sanh (Cam Xuyen district) was raising nearly 300 porkers completely on GREENFEED’s animal feed. She also bought from the company 100 piglets and pig semen in preparation for replacing the local breeds in her farm. Being regarded as a livestock breeder with a passion for the profession, she and her husband had been constantly learning, improving their knowledge and applying the best technical measures to improve their farm productivity. Their efforts paid off as the farm became the family’s stable livelihood, both their children were able to attend university.

At another farm, Mr. Hoa (Cam Xuyen district) – the farm owner – not only adhered strictly to the breeding techniques but also paid close attention to environmental hygiene. Waste from the herd of 300 pigs was put into a biogas tank to be processed into gas fuel for family activities. In addition to keeping the environment of the barn clean, his farm also minimized the risk of disease spread, the pigs grew quickly and achieved high economic efficiency.

Commenting on GREEFEED swine breed, Mr. Hoa said: “After more than 3 months of raising GREENFEED piglets, I noticed that the piglets are energetic, eat well and have a fast growth rate. Traders commented that the quality of the meat is of high quality, lean and succulent, so they always buy at a price higher than the market by 1 to 1.5 times.” A month prior, he just sold his herd at the price of 54,000 VND/kg, the average weight reaching 95-100 kg/head. He was very optimistic with the results obtained and was excited to prepare for the year-end Tet crop.
