According to the Vietnam News Agency, snakehead farmers in Tra Vinh province were excited as the price of commercial snakehead fish had been stable at a high level, ranging from 38,000 to 42,000 VND/kg. The fish were healthy, resulting in a favorable yield due to scientific farming model, accompanied by appropriate nutrition solutions of GREENFEED Aqua Feed.
At that time, grade 1 commercial snakehead fish (0.8 – 1 kg/fish) was purchased by traders for 40,000 – 42,000 VND/kg (directly from farm), up by 13,000 to 15,000 VND/kg compared to the same period in previous years. With this selling price, breeders achieved a stable net profit, reconfirming snakefish farming to be an important livelihood for the economic development of the province.
Ms. Thanh, Head of Cang Long Cooperative (Cang Long district) had 5 snakehead fish ponds with an area of 6,000 m2, producing 100 tons of fish/crop, harvesting time from 6 to 6.5 months, depending on market demand. She had just sold 2 batches of commercial snakehead fish at the price of 41,000 – 42,000 VND, the average weight achieved 600 to 700 gr/fish, the net profit she earned per kg sold was 16,726 VND – 16,470 VND/kg.
Mr. Tien (Phuong Thanh commune), who worked as a local social worker. Interested in the snakehead fish farming model of many people in the region, he also decided to invest in a pond specializing in raising snakehead fish with an area of more than 500 m2.
